Dear friends,

I have a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 series 40 GB :
Drive Model: Maxtor 6E040L0510614, KMGA
Recognized as: Maxtor N40P in BIOS, so it means maybe a firmware zone corruption.

I have read many useful topics in this forum and tried to find out a solution for Maxtor N40P firmware corruption, but I couldn’t find the solution correctly. :!:

In the file download section there are many files and softwares. I know for solving the problem I need the macrocodes and a software to upload the microcode …

The question is:

1-Which file and software should I use to fix the firmware zone corruption for:
(Drive Model: Maxtor 6E040L0510614: 40GB). Please help me to find it in file download zone in this site or any where.

2- Some basic information for starting and using the up loader software (if there is any one in this site) if not please introduce another one.

Any help would be appreciated .

Firmware problems cannot be fixed by free softwares u require expensive tools like pc3k .

Only one answer for @tantan232, you must be buy PC3K or take it to a pro.

omnieus, have you tried to use any "entire-website-download" software?

nope, not at all, I have never been into the files area before, only recently joined the forum. I have seen many links to the files area but I have never been able to get access to it, every time I try I get 403 forbidden errors.

the only thing I could think of was...here in South Africa we have dynamic IP's from our Service providers, a static IP is not possible, someone sharing an IP with me might have contacted the site and that IP or IP block is now banned. Is this possible?? would routing my connection through a proxy server help at all??

sorry to be a bother about this

I have removed your IP from the "banned" list.

Thanks

I guess that's the reason I was banned too :( I use the firefox extension Downthemall on every website, whether I'm downloading 1 file or 10. Any chance I can be unbanned? I'll just disable DownThemAll from now on.

Hello too btw - I found this forum last week and it's given me loads of useful info to give me a headstart in data recovery :)
