maysoft, I have to give you kudos that there will be a version that is free and continues MHDD (in some way). Thanks a lot!
Whenever I really want to know if a disk has issues I fire up MHDD and let it perform some scans. That gives me enough information to know if the disk will go to the trash bin or not.

Hello Dimitry,

It was nice to meet you at CES and at your presentation at the Riviera. The unit is nice and may just turn the DR industry on its head. There is surely a trend moving firmware recoveries into the reach of the consumer or standard computer tech. I guess the specialists will see their business migrating towards mostly clean room work. Thats fine with me, good luck!!

What tools are you talking about? Surely not software-only stuff, as it won't help anything with the hdd not starting up to RDY.
I'm just looking at a DEC RL02 drive while writing this, having also a READY light. Incandescent bulb. Damn, I wish those times back

For the most part, I agree with this statement. People whose businesses are completely focused on data recovery are pretty much fked.

What is the price?
Preliminary price for the Atola Insight suite (includes Atola Insight software and Atola DiskSense UDMA USB 2.0 unit) is $5990. We still haven’t decided whether we will offer less expensive versions or not.

Release date
First official release is planned for the mid-April 2008. Shipping will begin in May 2008.

Where to buy
YEC International will distribute and support Atola Insight. YEC has a wide network of distributors and partners around the world.
