I want to tell you that i did NOT write anything on the hdd ....i know that writing in the fw. area is very dangerous for the hdd if u don't know what u are doing (mainly for seagate hdd), so i didn't write anything to it.

Thanks

Hello,
I also have problems with Seagate's HDD (Barracuda 320 GB, ATA). Recently my HDD started with strange behavior. The computer started to run slowly and were crashing down without any special reason. I tried scandisk and it found no problems. When I rebooted the next time the BIOS could not recognize the HDD anymore.
Do you have any idea how to bring the HDD to life and to get the data from this disk...
Best regards,
Robert

Hi all

I've managed to get an working drive with the same model ST340014A fw. 3.06. Does this help to repair the defect drive with "failed sys sector write" in any way?.....I mean can I do something like copy some modules from the good drive and write them to the defect drive?.....or something else?

Thanks
Rgds

Hi,
I need help to unlock a seagate ST3160021A drive.

I've tried MHDD with master password but no luck. I read somewhere that I could upgrade the firmware. Does anyone know where I can get the firmware? I 've tried the seagate site already.

Thanks
Al

Hi all,

Does anyone know the master password for unlock the ST3200822AS? Don't know for what reason it got suddenly locked which connected to 3ware adaptor at Raid 5 configuration used about 2 years. Any ideas that it was caused by the drive defect or virus? Thanks a lot!

Hi

I have an Barracuda 7200.7(80G) with few bad sectors(about 100)....some of them are IDNF errors which ,of course, can't be added in g-list.

My question is does anyone know which tests from the selfscan T?? can be run to have this sectors put in p-list or another list except g-list?....or which command moves the g-list to p-list?

Thanks in advance

Hi rameez

Thanks for reply but i think i don't need the I,,22 test...it's for SA area and i have defects in user area..so no point in running that test...

Anyway i allready resolved that issue...i found out myself witch test is better to run in this case...
