Unless the HDD is clicking and spinning down, replacing the head stack assembly is the wrong first step. In almost 100% of cases with this ... functions or the media cache. It's not impossible that you have a weak/failed read/write head, but even if that is the case the firmeware issue ...

i suspect 2 causes:
- weak / contaminated head(s) (or if these are donor heads, they do not work good with patient adaptives)

ACE TS told H0 is weak and can't read data in the user area because it have a much higher recording density ... area. This is your problem. H0 is weak or contaminated. You can't avoid checking the head visually in any case, more precisely you can but with risking drawing nice rings ...
