Hard Disk is ST3320613AS / CC2H ~ Brinks Family.
While disk gets detection and I have been able to read some system files too. While imaging in DE disk starts clicking and becomes busy with detection loss.
I think it could be SA defects or weak failing heads. Customer has few photos to be recovered so its low cost FW job only .
I can't change settings in sys 93 (SMP) as drive starts clicking .It has something to do wit MC.
Any tip or trick I can try?

Here is Terminal & full log

This family doesn't have MC, so it's not that.

If you reached to a point that you can image in DE, did you image head by head?

Hi northwind Thanks
yes I tried since data size is small (aprox 20 GB) but drive starts clicking suddenly and becomes busy , I was worried that this might result in complete head failure.
So I tried to disable SMP flags and make drive more efficient in SA reading . I will give it a try again by increasing jump sectors

Disk is clicking continuously and is not coming on terminal , I think heads are getting close to complete failure .
My only concern is heads should be the root cause and not anything else like SA or system file corruption.
From head resistance can we blame heads ?

Head 00 Resistance 0107
Head 01 Resistance 016E

Thanks

Hi northwind , Happy Weekend
Thanks for responding.
Yes when powered while entering utility it does not click but when tried to read ID or while performing any activity it starts clicking but does not spin down.
I am worried whether my diagnostics itself could be wrong ,I am mistaken some unknown reason for clicking as head crash.

Update
While entering utility I have given path of earlier saved system files & now disk has stopped clicking for some time but begins later. I am checking matching pcb , I suspect something could be wrong in pcb as well ,just to rule out possibility.
