I also dont like shareing company with people that enjoy harrasing others. Its not something that makes my day.

If this truly is a place where people are harrassed, why are you here? It is clear you have a healthy interest in DR, but also have your own strong opinions which generally amount to nothing. I personally have learned lots or useful info from this forum, and have never been harrassed. I am sure many others share the same experience.

If you want help or advice, ask politely, if you want to be obnoxious arrogant and argumentative, do it somewhere else :-)

Are you talking about axis alignment set by the lid?

I am familiar with the zenith / azimuth access alignment vis-a-vis WDC drives. I'm wondering about other brands, other issues . . .

guyz just forget it, delete this thread jesus. instead of giving me prices which i will never pay, gimme some real advice if you really know what you're talking about. sounds like most of you are just nubs (no offense) or are here to take advantage of vulnerable and clueless people who need simple hard drive help. But you won't give it to them will you? no you wont, you're either worried that ur little trade secrets will get leaked out and you will never have a business. Just don't quit ur day jobs. I will find a way myself and no it won't be a platter swap and it won't cost me alot. I am officially off this forum. thanks for all the input from you honest people that posted accurate info. and shame on you exploiters who posted here.

This thread did get sidetracked a bit, but you were given good
advice and correct answers to your problem.
Maybe some of the quotes seemed a little high to you, and some
may very well be too high, BUT no one can actually price a recovery
until they do a proper diagnosis.

Wow, visitors sure expect a lot, don't they?

Gee, if you don't help me fix my stuff RIGHT NOW for FREE, then I'm leaving in a huff and you all can go to hell . . . .

Sometimes I wonder why we bother at all to try to help.

Ungrateful tw@. You have been given lots of very good free advice. Many of us could be repairing hard drives and making more money but we give our valuable time to help people like you.
I think your just pissed you will never see that precious data again.

If you don't want to pay, may I recommend a good back up policy.

I have almost the same drive that will spin up and spin down. Would like to recover the recent data which I don't have a backup for. Yea, I know "Backup often".

Would anyone quess about the cause of the failure. Is it the PCB board or the drive mechanism?

Thanks in advance
