That worked for me... but for 22 minutes... I was copying my files to my PC HD and it stoped working, but not like before, the HD was being recognized but wasn't opening anything, and was only showing Local Disc(E): instead of Samsung Portable Drive, and that after a minute reading... and all that it did was ask me to format the HD... and after 1 hour trying to acess my files again I ended up formatting it...
Worked fine again, so I installed a data recovery program and ran it... after some minutes the HD was not being recognized again... not like before, now I can hear it rotating and the PC usb shows it, but not like a local disk. And on disk management its shown as a drive, but not recognized... and now I'm more lost than before, and don't know what more to do... guess I lost my files forever.. =/

Even more fantastic is that when those drives fail most of the times it's still possible to recover the data !

Correct ! As you described "older" Samsungs used to fail with head contamination and/or platter degradation, specialy the "Palo" family.

hello iw9hlv,
first backup everything on PC, then check file permissions. If there is need, then change permissions.

but it's strange, in every cases the hd is connected via USB cable, either linux and windows don't go after the first approach, the HD emit and repeating the same beep and click, not on connection with the WII.
I wonder if with an emulator on pc i can reach the media inside it.
what do you think ?

Perhaps the PC's USB port cannot provide sufficient power to spin up the drive.
USB 2.0 ports are current limited to 500mA whereas a 2.5" drive may require up to 1A during spinup. Most USB ports are OK with this, but there are some that aren't. In such cases you could pick up power from two USB ports with a USB Y-cable.

i've tested the HD on two different pc with different OS in but after of fzabkar's suggestion i made an "Y" adaptor for bringing more current on HD and now it work !
when investigating on reason i reach a dramatic idea: at the same time the two pc's power supply and the HD have lose their strenght or response capacity on duty.
anyway i solved the issue .
many tnx

simply i disassemblied two USB cable type male/female and build a cable Y type with 2 male connector and one female, in this way i can bring double current to the HD.
it work, now ...
