I recently used 'iPartition' by Coriolis Systems to expand a partition to take up so,e free space on my Seagate Freeagent Goflex 1 TB, iPartition version 3.4.0.

The first step when I hit 'Go' was 'Unmoumting Disks'. It stayed there for almost an hour at 0%, so I forcequit iPartition and unplugged the drive. (Dumb, I know)

I plugged it back in and various other disk utilities reported catastrophic failures, disk didn't mount in Finder or even show up in Disk Utility. I reopened iPartition and it said

'iPartition detected an unfinished operation on this disk'

And it asked me to click a button to 'Add a repair operation', which I did. It has been almost 8 hours since then, and it is still stuck on 'Unmounting Disks' at 0%.

What should I do? I already tried their incredibly unhelpful customer support. Should I wait, or force quit again and use a data recovery tool? The drive contains critical data and irreplaceable family photos. (I know, I should have a backup). Please help!
