Hi to all,


Have this disk that the heads "Sliders" get stuck in the platte H1 H2 H3


As i can show in pictures.

I Could Get the H2 H3 out but the H2 stays there.



Any ideya how can i get that "slider" out.

I think you recieved the drive from another company tried to free the heads already and failed, am I right ?

no the drive was close not open.


When i try to free the heads they where really stuck in the platte. :)

I am change heads now, and get the data.

I also just received such a WD1600BEVS. Same observation. Same problem. Client said was dropped while powered on. In my case only slider of H3 was lifted and stuck to platter.

I've seen this exact same situation after a "percussive maintenance" on a wd1600bevs with probable head stiction....
