I was also going to ask what issue the had was having as it was not said in the original post.

If the drive is from a WD Passport Essential then doing this sata hack this will not give you access to the data as the data will still be encrypted.

My WD Passport works fine, and I have datas on it. But if I swap back my old "sata" pcb (eeproms have same content), I can't read encrypted datas. However I can format the drive, put new files, and use it as a normal sata drive.

For data recovery, I agree it's a wast of time.

Drivestar is not so good for pcb selling, i don't buy so much pcb from them anymore.

On many drives is needed that pcb sticker code matchs with original pcb sticker code.
The reason why i don't like much drivestar is that often they pull off pcb sticker code (i don't know why they do that), so it happens that the pcb you get very often is not a compatible donator.
I buy pcb from drivestar only when i do not need to match sticker code, i buy pcb from them only when i just need to match pcb code (for example Seagate 3.5" Barracuda pcb 100466725).

It's strange, no missing sticker on my pcb, but I only purchased once in Drivestar. Do you known where you can buy cheap pcb? For data recovery pcb price is not a problem, but a 50$ pcb just for repair...

If you found pcb sticker on the pcb (and the sticker code is the same of your original pcb) then it's ok.

Just remember that these drives are hardware encrypted and when you solder in a SATA port you are before the encryption chip. So you might have to set up a decryptor board from a My Book to translate the data. Unless you have PC-3000 (thanks Ace Labs!)
