First sorry for my english (I'm french)
It seems i'm not the only one to have my usb connector broken. I've made some study in electronic so soldering it was not a problem.
The HDD was fine again i used it for 3 hours on my computer and TV.
But the last connection to the computer it said it wasn't recognize.
So i unplug it and plug on an other usb: same, on my TV no reaction, back to computer and here is the drama the LED on the drive is no more lightning
I put my ear on the drive and there is a little noise : tac tac tac..... tac tac tac .... and so on.
So i ask help from my friend google:

So i tested with multimeter as asked on other post i have the +5V on both side of inductor, 3,3V on the 2R2 seems all fine.

So i test continuity from usb cable to the PCB and i don't know how but the data+ and data- was linked so i redo my solder and it's ok.

But nothing change same noise on the drive no light on the LED.

I don't think trying conversion to SATA should be attempt cause the LED isn't responding even if there is the +5V

Any suggestion ?

Here are my pics:

In your case, if your data is important I would not mess much more with it.
I would take it to a data recovery pro to check and give his inputs.

If the drive is not spinning, then you may have a stiction fault. Alternatively, it could be that your USB port is not providing enough power to spin up the drive, in which case you could try picking up power from two USB ports by using a Y-cable.

well i haven't that cable with me. i'm pretty sure it's the central motor that doesn't start.
I've tested the four pin that goes to it the first one(close to the screw hole) have no voltage the 3 other have various voltage.
I think the first one have a problem. they all goes to a 91AY9JTG4 TLS2502B (i think hard to read) gona try to find a datasheet.

Head stiction video by Waqas Ali:

Waqas Ali is a SalvationData trainer:

Of course he would normally perform the procedure in a cleanroom or clean chamber, and he would be wearing gloves.

The spindle motor is a 3-phase brushless DC type. Three pins connect to each of the phases, while the fourth pin is the common terminal.

Ok so if it's the head that is stuck, do you think it's the reason that cause the led to stay off ?

The behaviour of the LED would be determined by the bridge firmware, but yes, it's possible.

What happens if you connect the PCB on its own, without the HDD? Does the LED flash?
