I had fixed this hard drive already a couple of months ago because it had the bsy error, not being recognized in bios. fix i usedhttp://forum.hddguru.com/seagate-7200-bsy-error-12cc4-message-t11869.html
It was working fine [powers on, no abnormal clicking sounds] and then this week, it started getting slower to access the drive, windows would take about 10 seconds to show the contents of the drive.
It got worse to the point where windows couldn't even see the drive anymore, tried using disk management and it could not initialize the drive [ drive busy error].
I took out the cables I used before to do the fix and got back into the drive to try and do the fix again.
This time when I took out the paper after spinning down properly and tried to spin the drive up, I keep getting this error:
F3 2>U

DiagError 00006008
Spin Error
Elapsed Time 24.021 secs
R/W Status 2 R/W Error 84150180

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Replace drive OR ask for pro help. For example we can make it re-utilizable again at a reasonable price taking into account that in any case it is low quality cheap drive. Any qualified pro should have the gear and k-h to fix the drive.

Hey,

Sounds like its an easy fix, is there any way I could do the fix without special tools you that hd specialists use?
If not, can you recommend anyone in the Toronto[canada] region?

Thanks.

NOT EASY FIX. It is possible at low price to FIX THE DRIVE BUT LOOSING DATA ON IT - EVERYTHING. Otherwise, it is data recovery at data recovery price too.

This is why professionals are called professionals, and newbies are called newbies. It is to differentiate those who have a clue from those who dont.

Um.. lets not make this a thread about newbies vs professionals please.

If you have some further comments to make please keep it to the diagnoses or treatment of the failed drive.

Thanks.

This is unavoidable when there is clearly a lack of ability in dealing with this issue, and instead lots of assumptions about how easy the repair could be.

If you want my opinion, you should have learned from your initial failure and made backups, now you are left with a hard disk that only a professional DR firm can deal with.

Diagnosis - The HDD is not functional.
Solution - Send it to a pro near you.

Haha.. if only north america would follow some of what you russians do.
Any DR in the Toronto region?
The drive contains only media stuff, I don't want to spend more time downloading again.
