Is it recognised correctly? Correct Model, Serial etc?

Can you access any of the LBAs?

Hello,

What may have happened is bad sectors could have formed over the SA. Can you test the drives modules and see if there are any corrupt ones?
Before you start playing around too much you might want to try a resource backup.

Cheers

To understand the problem with the HDD is first. You have to know excatally what the problems is and how to fix it Next you do need to have a good understanding of your tools and how to use them. Also working of HDD. It is not possible to blindly guess what your problem is on this drive and try this or that to repair it with. This one will never work and you will lose data on your drive.

You have purchased the udma from ACE and in doing so you have TS support for the first year. You have all your updates for free and can download the FW and manuals from your inbox. You need to read these books and work in this program with some old drives that you do not need data on them. You need to spend a lot of time in research to determine what the problems are in the drives. What works with one may not work with another. Until you understand your tool, DR work, and HDD maybe you should find a person to out source some of your work too in the mean time.

If you have UDMA I can use team viewer and your help to show you a few things. I won't fix the drive for you but I can show you a few tricks for diagnosis and point you to some reference materials if you like. PM me if interested and we will get started.
