 Post subject: Is Recovery of folders possible..?

Hello,
My Hitachi hard drive is crashed,i tried several data recovery softwares ..most of them retrieve files based on the type like doc,image etc..,
Is there any software which recovers the whoke folder..?

No. What do you mean crashed? You can no longer see your files and partition on this one?

I tried active recovery software.Could you please name any software which will help me recover data by folder and not by type of file

Try cloning this drive first. That one is the frist step in the process. After you have a good clone of your drive comes the second step. Fixing the problem. Could be after you clone it you find you have a partition problem. also could be after you clone it there is some other reason. But working on a drive you claim is crashed is bad news and you can lose all your data this way if you go on. I would find a good cloning tool and clone it backwards if possible. Then take this drive and you can go on as you please on it.

Well I could not get the answer.... I guess its too late for cloning...Any softwares to recover folders.....
