 Post subject: SAMSUNG LED 2A01

Hello,

I got from a client SAMSUNG hard drive HN-M101MBB/AV1

When I conected it to the PC3K the drive didn't spin at all and didn't make any sound.
In the terminal I got error:

And so on..

When I checked about the error I found that it means that the PCB is not native.
I told that to the client and he admint that the drive was in other lab. The other lab admited that they "mistakenly" gave the wrong PCB to the client. They agree to send us the "so called" original PCB.

I got the "original" pcb from the other lab and swap bwtween the PCB and the "original" pcb but again the same error message in terminal as above (LED 2A01)..
The hard drive doesn't spin and doesn't make any sound even with the "original" PCB.

So, do you think that the "original" pcb is again not the native onel?
or the error doesn't indicate that the pcb is not native?
As it seems the drive wasn't open at the other lab.

Is there an "Invalid PA VID" or "Invalid Preamp" or "PreampError" message?

Does the error output change if you isolate the HDA contacts?

Can you tell us the markings on the ICs? We could then compare the date codes on the ICs against the manufacture date on the label. That should help us to determine whether either PCB is native.

same message.. hdd doesn't spin up with original Pcb.
same pcb spins the motor but it useless.... no data can seem.
rom swap also useless. it doesn't spin...

is that rom fault or pcb or preamp?
