For those who had DOUBT in my Smartware Solution

December 30th, 2011, 12:54

Again, for those who had DOUBT in my Smartware Solution and Experience
i will POST here the Proof of Concept DEMO Video steps for the Solution i came with
which works with WD Smartware by 60-80% success.

the reason of this post is not to show off, but i got many plenty of PM`s asking me is it true or not?
and I`M PRETENDING to have something which i don`t have.

1st. Many thnx to the People who shared some juicy Info. which helped me here a lot on this research

and

2nd. Many thnx to Dr.Kiev really for sharing also very Good Info. about sectors which helped me here a lot
finding correct parameters..

In Addition, some people from here who shared some of their experience and tests

and Finally

how the Solution works will be briefly described later when i finish recording some sample video shots
as a proof of concept here.

FINAL WORD, IT IS NOT FOR SALE OR SHARE WITH ANYONE...

wait for the update news here...

thank you

Can you clarify which Smartware issue you are referring to?

Forgotten Smartware user password used in WD Mybook & Passport drives with smartware & hardware encryption.

As someone who has toyed with this a LOT, but due to other demands had to focus on other things, I am quite curious to see.

Guys... on 2012 1st. the demo video will be Uploaded here in public

the Solution Basically does the following:

Bypass Smartware Encryption Password, which means:

Access the DATA without the password, a Default Password will be forced in memory address replacing the unlock.exe memory access.

with this, you don`t need the password provided, just plug & PLAY not PRAY, it works very well.

more details coming tomorrow on how does it work.

networks thnx i don`t drink, but smoke, but really after this decided to QUIT..

THANK you all

einstein,

does your solution work in case where no password is set but smartware requires password due to error on smartware area?

as an answer to your Q here:

for every Action there is a Re-Action - Simple Physics

i guess for some people here they know exactly what i mean.

now straight forward Answer is: Under Development maybe v2 of this 1st. release

1st. Thnx for the TEAM:

1- Dr.Kiev and FEW Forum Members for the info.
2- Reverse Engineering Brothers - they are the BEST on Developing this Solution.
3- The Unknown Guy who made this Idea comes to Birth. Dizman
4- Einstein9 - R n D Team Leader for this Project.

Facts About Smartware:

USB 2.0 uses Initio 1607E
USB 3.5 uses Symwave Chip

3.5" Smartware comes with 5 Different Types:

A) Initio 1606L
B) Initio 1607E - Type 1
C) Initio 1607E - Type 2
D) Private
E) Private

Applications Used:

1- SoftIce
2- OllyDBG
3- WinHex
4- W32Dasm
5- IDA

Things must know about Smartware:

1- U12, U14 has no relation
2- Encryption on the fly
3- USB 2/3 share the same technique (some how)
4- All Actions are in Last Head saved, so it must is capable of R/W
5- Playing with HM result in Brute Force Attack = Drive Exceeded Password Retry format is a Must. (for now only, working on it)

Problems and Solution:

The whole Idea starts from the UNLOCK.EXE file which is located inside the VCD partition
the EXE file calls few functions inside and for the Reverse Engineering team they had
problems tracing 3 of them which were hidden functions
it took them 2 months testing and researching those 3 only.

But Finally, they DID it

the Smartware Bypass Stays in Specific Memory Address and when we execute the Unlock.exe file
it reads from specific sector @ the end, and verifies the contents and brings
back the Password window, where here we are forcing it to read OUR default Password
and it confirms it as YES IT IS CORRECT.

then the partition will be mounted and we can access the DATA

the Bypass Utility will not Write Anything, kind of Cheating Machine same as Game Cheating.

very simple in explaining, but took a lot hell of time to translate this to Action.

I DON`T NEED TO KNOW THE PASSWORD, to access the DATA, just bypass it with my default Set password

" Everything should be made AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE, but NOT ANY SIMPLER." Albert Einstein

the initio problem was the 2011 data recovery problem . i hope not the 2012 too. i believe that mr.einstein9 made a big step with this program .and i know how his researches is so deep about the initio encryption. i hope to hear that you mr.einstein9 solve the encrption of usb wd totaly & conclusively soooooooooooooooon. congratulaion for this vital step & Happy New Year for you & for your Team

Wow why all of these

1- SoftIce
2- OllyDBG
3- WinHex
4- W32Dasm

When IDA would do it all?

I Learned from ANN to Study Patent`s paper, the technical background, carefully read each single word because it means something, and lead you somewhere with your thoughts.

After few months of my research i came up with an idea, and wanted to convert the Idea to something that helps my DR Biz. and saves my time, with many bookmarks and docs/images that i had i wrote my notes inside my BrainStorm Application (very useful to simplify complicated Idea`s, ask ANN very happy with my recommendation here, and she never expected such an App. that does this)

and with few Data Entries the idea grows and by looking @ the final output generated Image you can see things that your Brain cannot process but will organize your thoughts and how you should re-act.

some people asked, how did you find it? how n how .. and wished me good luck on this, and the answer to this is because Math/Physics in addition to playing Chess is my 1st. and lovely hobby.

And finally, i would like to thank all of you guys who wished me a good luck for this year i would say the following:

For those who wished me Good Luck last year, well guess what, it did not work last year (hehe) i will accept your Donations this year (might work this time). heheh

Thank you
