Amarbir, I have never claimed to be an expert on any subject. In fact I detest the term.
On the contrary, on several occasions I have confessed that I am essentially ignorant about modern hard drive technology, and I now do so again.
As for my electronics knowledge, I have always said that my contributions to this forum were nothing more than any junior technician knows, or should know. In fact I don't recall too many topics of discussion where the subject matter was any more complicated than that which any student of electrical circuit theory or electronics 101 would cover in his first few lessons.
For example, in your case I have recently had to explain the difference between a resistor and a fuse, and the meaning of the term "parallel connection". These are trivial concepts, certainly not worthy of the expert status that you have conferred upon me.
As for converting a 192KB ROM image to 256KB, I would have thought that this was a trivial exercise also. In fact I can't imagine why anyone would want to hide such a simple procedure from public view, especially since I had already published my own version in a recent thread. Why this should have provoked your ire is beyond my understanding. Instead I would have thought that your gratitude would have been in order since you now don't need to risk breaking any confidences with your colleagues. Moreover, you now won't need to answer PMs from other colleagues wanting to know the same solution. Isn't that how forums should work?
