Yes that´s what I got when using the diode setting on my multimeter.
I will check your other suggestions.
I think I will but another board, but I don´t think I will be able to replace the chip.

Your local TV/AV repair shop should be able to swap the chip.

Hello,
I found out the drive is still in warranty so I ordered a PCB from DriveStore.biz.
When I get it I will see if replacing the board revives the disc.
If not I will have to decide if I go for the warranty or attempt to repair the board with your help.
In the meantime, thanks a lot for your help

Thank you, I did exactly what you mention in this post and it worked. I removed the Diode and shortenend the 0 ohm resistor.
