HI guys

Happy new 2013!

I have a WD1600BEVT (WD Scorpio Blue)
It works great, fast no problem at all, but i like to take care of my stuffs

i dont know since when but i have notice a small clicks (i mean, i know there is something spinning there with a needle reading it lol) but i wanted to know if there is something wrong or to take care with my HDD.

when idle (and the ed oh the hdd activity off, the disk starts making some very very tiny noises there are two kind of noises one tiny and aother not so tiny but both of them would pass inadvertently in most of the users i notice them because i am in a extremely quiet room.

they are so tiny that had to use a HF recorder to grab them in order i can show you.

You can hear those small noises at:
00:01 tiny
00:04 tiny
00:06 double tiny
00:07 tiny
00:11 tiny
00:15 noticeable
00:20 noticeable

the last two (at sec 15 and 20) are different.

are those "clicks" normal?

one think to take into account;
In order to see if it iss Windows or the hdd the cause i decide to boot in my linux partition and the noise was gone, i decide to switch to another linux partition and there was no noise neither, then go back to windows and there was the tiny noises.

I thought that those clicks belong to any kind of technology used for save energy (which is windows compatible only)... i say that because when i am on linux, the drive doesn't make that noise... but its temperature is about 52-49c, and when i am in windows the average temp is 44-40c.
