Doing some research into locked ATA drives for my dad, and he recommended using MHDD as an experiment base. After booting into DOS and loading MHDD, I quickly discovered the PWD command, I fired in "test" into the password field, and it returned "Fail", and the ERR and ABRT flags lit up at the top of the screen.
After reading a few other threads, I found that it could be caused by a drive in "Frozen" mode, a mode which will not allow any security changes.

Really, what I'm looking for here is either confirmation, that it is in-fact in frozen mode (and help to get it out of frozen mode, haha), or some clarification into what I'm doing wrong.
