Hi guys,
on this post I'm gonna describe how I did to remove the USER PASSWORD ( no tested ATA PASSWORD yet ) :
1. RS232 to TTL Adapter
I did my own adapter with a little research on the internet here is the results :
The Project
Schematics
The Board Front
The Board Back
RS232 to USB Adapter
2. Preparing the HDD
Removing the board and blocking the contacts
Contacts already blocked
HDD TTL Connections
3. System Ready to be Unlocked
System Running
4. The commands and Procedures
I did a video to show how to proceed -- >>

Good job, but in my opinion use of the command 'm0,2....' is a little dangerous and I would not recommenced this to anyone else wanting to remove ATA lock from such drives...

OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMGGGGGGG it works!!!!!!!!!!!
I succed the technique with the same hdd.
I take a seagate barracuda 7200.9 (250go) i put a password. Then to unlock put the password just then change the hdd (put the locked) barracuda 7200.11 (500go) then continue the protocol blanck two times try enter............then password changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ohhhhhh i dont believe it but true!!!!!!!!!!! Now my hdd is unlocked and read in windows wow. I think you have just to find a hdd near the yours (i think better if exactly the same) and do that!!!!!!!!!!!! It saved my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ps: excuse my english very bad!!!!!!!!!!!

+1
Title is misleading as this refers to the ATA lock solution (discussed to death on the Internet for half a decade now) and not password removal. It's extremely far from the way I would do it but congrats on getting your data back. Love the homemade ttl adapter. Hope this was your own drive and not a customers.
