Tahoe ?

January 29th, 2014, 16:33

Hello ,

i have seen alot of those Tahoe 500 GB
wd5000aaks-00v1a0

which spins OK , but not detected in DFL , head map is detected fine , but no SPT or serialnumber ,

from my point of view , it a rom compatibility issue , that is preveting SA loading ..

what do u think ?

Some times it is all about a few unaccessible modules preventing the firmware to fully initialize. A usually damaged module is the SMART module for example.

AFAIK wd5000aaks-00v1a0 is Tahoe PL , but may be I am wrong.
I think Tahoe PL and Tahoe use different modification of PCB 70640 and their ROM's are incompatable
