 Post subject: Strange sound HDD ST2000LM003

I bought samsung/seagate ST2000LM003 and i have take the internal disc 2.5" 2TbB ST2000LM003 and put into the ps4. I heard that this disc make sometimes "beep" or "grr", is it normal?

This is the sound.. sometimes it makes for three times, sometimes one times of 10 minutes, it is discontinuously.

Hello,

it could be, that Sony PS4 doesen't support your drive.
Research, if you can put any drive, or you need to do some modifications.
What kind of drive was in the PS4 before you put ST2000LM003 in

Do you heard the sound?
Before it was Hitachi, but ps4 support 12mm hdd 2.5".
Hitachi was 7mm, this is 9.5mm.. i don't think it's a compatible problem

Are you sure that sound is coming from the hard drive itself? Compatibility problems are common between hard drives and video game machines, it's not just that the drive meets physical requirements, sometimes is something as stupid as a matching file system, a matching serial number pattern, or an ATA password.

Hello kekko95,

to clarify, that problem is in hdd connect it to computer. If strange sound remain, then return it to shop to replace you with new one

It doesent work on pc because it's formatted for another system operation (ps4)...

I already made it in past, before removing hdd from the case and it appeared without problem. There wasen't damaged part or something
