Hi guys,

I've read through the forum on broken WD10TMVVs but most of them with the USB or PCB issues at least show "unrecognized device" in Windows. I dropped my WD10TMVV inside it's original casing while plugged into my laptop. It now spins up, I hear normal ticking sounds and see the White LED light up. The only thing is I don't see any indication of it being plugged in at all in Windows; USB devices shows nothing being added. What is this a sign of?

Thanks in advance

Most possibly head(s) is/are weak due to the fall and that has caused other issues which can justify the behavior you're describing.

Bad news: These drives need special procedures to get them recovered, due to encryption implemented on their pcb and other peculiarities they're having.
Good news: Heads can still be alive (but weak) and that can get the price of recovery to be significantly low (if you decide to take the pro route, that is), assuming the heads will survive the procedure of imaging.

I'm afraid your options are very limited here.
