Does anyone want me to search in my storage for these? I might still have some of this. Also there are more HGST/IBM utilities such as OGM,DDD,etc.
Actually yes, I'm interested. I have a bunch of the HUC109060CSS600 (600gb sas 10k) Hgst drives are from Netapp. Firmware NA01, and NA01. I have no issues using these in my Dell 420, perc710P controller. Dell officially removed HDD restriction in their H700 series controller after the first firmware update. I'm more interested in flashing these Netapp drives with dell firmware N440 just to see if more info will show up about the drives. Also, what utility would you recommend for use in windows? I'm also going to look at the dell firmware and the utility they use, see if i cant figure something out.

To reflash HGST disks from one vendor to another, it is necessary to deactivate checks inside the hard drive itself, as provided by the manufacturer. Dig the code, look for keys, look for vendor commands. No free utility, let alone OEM flasher, will help in this case.

Do you want me to post what I have? Do you want to PM and if so how do I set that up? No guarantee any of this will work changing the firmware as could reject the code and leave the hdd unchanged.

To me? I don’t need to. I can change them as I please. IBM, HP, DELL, NETAPP, SUN, HITACHI, etc ... From any to any. If there is any doubt that the microcode will work, then on the previous page there are screenshots. Need to show NA01 hard reflashed into N440 or what?

If you two are still around, how would one extract the firmware from the HDDs? Is there a "Linux" way? Or, an SOIC8 clip needed?
I have some HUC109090CSS600 (900GB version) I can extract from.

Hi,
I'm new here, and hope someone can help me.
I got a lot of drives I need to change the firmware.
But the two important ones is:
HUC101212CSS600 1.2tb FW: GJGJ
HUC109090CSS600 900gig FW: GCGC
I have changed them from 520 to 512, but still don't initialize in windows.
I have found the software on this site, but how to load it to the drive.
I have tried sasdupie and hugo, but it doesn't work.
Any ideas or help will be much appreciated.

I am also stuck with more than a 1,000 units of these disks. I am willing to pay anyone who can invest time in resolving this.
The Majority Model is HUC106060CSS600 or DKR5C-J60SS.
The disks show perfect health. I am able to use sg_utils to format them from 520 Bytes to 512 Bytes (Most are already 512 Bytes).
But all attempts to write data on them or creating RAID fails.
I am also of the opinion that this has something to do with the firmware on the disks.

Hi,
I have several 2.5” SAS HDD 10K - 1.2TB (HUC101812CSS20) Disks.
I am looking for IBM firmware for them to make them work in IBM V3700 and V7000 Storage.
I downloaded the Disk firmware package from IBM but its not possible to extract individual disk firmware from the package.
Anybody have the required firmware available?

Anyone can help me get these to report as "IBM-E050" or the standard "SEAGATE"?
This for my home lab salvaged V5030.
