Sorry if this is redundant, its late here and I'm tired. Have a drive with a bad TVS. its marking is KVP and found some specs on it, 12V device. I have a Seagate with a BUF near the motor would that be acceptable? Also the Seagate has a device near the SATA PWR, ST device marked AE, GP511. Anyone got a good current list of device datasheets with marking id's?

Thanks, looks like I should be ok using the BUF to replace the KVP. Both are a 13A build spec, min. clamp voltage is 12.4 on KVP, 14.4 for BUF. Should do the trick and keep it safe, at least it wont short (ie using AE part 5V on 12V line.)

Thanks for the quick reply. Anyone else wants to chime in with useful info please do!
