Hey guys,

a Buffalo Linkstation collapsed... inside two mirrored ST2000DM001. both imaging properly with MRT tool... Power Reset then imaging 100 MB (each 10 seconds) > BSY > Power Reset > Loop...

wondering if there is a fix to this BSY issue.. seems to be very common. Strange that the two drives seems to have the same issue.

Greetings
Benjamin

Hey guys,

I optimized the settings so that every 8 seconds 100 MB have been read by MRT-Tool. After Power Reset there was a small time frame where each of the mirrored HDs were accessible.

The second imaging process I used PIO mode that was very stable. at approx. 500 kb/s in that case.

1. HD 40000 errors (see screenshot below) - seems to be the HD "blown" first
2. HD 4000 errors (see screenshot below)

The XFS Filesystem seems to be recognized by Reclaime.

Maybe with the Sysfile 93 it the imaging process would have been more stable and faster?

Thanks for your help. The case ist technical successful. Now it should be economically successful too.. the customer took the hd after diagnosis and said he will double-check it.. a friend of him will try it.

Thank you for your impulses and greetings from Germany,
Benjamin

Sysfile 93 would be the same as disabling reloaction, media cache, etc with cogen, same as explained here but saved on sys module - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=557

also : - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=557#p7383

Regarding cloning in PIO it does work great on those Seagates, despite the fact that it's ... sloww ....

Spildit ,
I too Think Its a JOB Done Fine .Wish Now He Gets The Money

+1 Always take care of Sysfile 93 before cloning on these drives.

I wouldn't count on economic success if you routinely provide the recovered data for the customer or his friend to verify as okay. It might be a better idea to provide a listing of files (using snap2html) and thumbnails of pictures (I take a video of Picasa while it quickly scans all the picture thumbnails) and only release the data once the customer accepts that the recovery is a success--by paying before releasing the data.

Hey LarrySabo,

Gladly I gave the customer the HD of which I made an image. He wanted to have a diagnosis by a friend of him. Customer called me If the friend can open the drive to fix it. He wanted to make sure that I have the images save... I said to him do what you have to do... but I advised otherwise. But he has to hurry up. 4 TB of Image Space is much... Still in negotiations with customer.

The tool you recommended will help a lot.

Greetings
Benjamin
