i have a st3500418as which i don't know where it comes.

terminal say that serial number :9VM2M159
but the label say that :9VM2M158

and
Quote:

Maybe P-List has fault or PCB is different?

And i have a st500dm002.
i couldn't get F3 T> .
i think pcb's are mixed.

How can i know Pcb's serial number without terminal output message? or how can i know pcb's are get mixed.

Let's say that someone with a broken RAID 0 or 1 enclosure attempted to fix a bad drive with the PCB from the other ...

Or that someone aquired several drives at the same time (sequential serial number9 and later on attempted to fix the damaged one with a PCB swap ...

Looks like PCB is not native unless they changed serial number themselfs for whatever reason.

+1
I thought so, too.

novices try pcb swap without transfering rom. so then they leave

today i recovered two st3500410as with success. only i realise that serial number wrong.

@418as
i correct 1b file with seagate P-list editor but it's useless. ( i have backup)
i'm sure that pcb is not native.. my problem is PCB oriented.

this is waqas's video for SIM Error 2044.

Try and give result and you check that PCB is original go to T level and press = J that terminal show hard disk model number

Thank you very much indeed. this helps to me.

But new model of seagate doesn't respond ctrl+Z or L command at alone of pcb.

How could we determine serial number of these new PCB alone?
PCB messing is possible..
