Hello,
If I'm here no good news for my HD

Unfortunately I put 12v in my HD, bacause i swap fan power adaptor molex in chain with my HD

I bought new PCB on web, my question is, may I try to replace it without swap bios? What do you suggest?

Here attached some picture

Thank you in advance

Ciao.

The side where the IC is burned, it is not a good sign.

It may be that the preamplifier is damaged.

That's not the IC, that's the motor controller that's cooked. It's definitely worth trying to replace the PCB first before assuming anything is wrong with the preamp.

Unfortunately, you will need to transfer the U12. It's extremely unlikely that just cold swapping the PCB will work. I've only ever seen this work a few times out the dozen or so PCB replacements I do each week.

IC = Integrated Circuit.

The Motor Controller is an Integrated Circuit.

Yes, technically that's true. But, usually on this forum when people say IC they are referring to the main IC chip on the PCB not the motor controller chip.

I don't think so.

I think it's a way to write less text, "IC" is shorter than "motor controller" and I think most people on the forum, understood that "IC" was talking about.
