Hey there,
So recently i screwed up my old Seagate Backup Plus 1TB hard drive. Fell from 2 feets high :weep: . Now it wont detect in my pc. I hear very faint beeps(20-25) and then nothing happens. I think the head might be stuck to the platter.

Now i wanted to open it up and check for myself but don't know what type of screw it has. Found somewhere on the internet that it has torx screws but what size exactly, i couldn't find.

I thought of getting a complete set (torx t4-t15) but couldn't find them online for a reasonable price. I think i might have to import it from US or some place. So i need to be sure exactly what screwdriver set will be able to open it up.
Thanks

PS: I live in New Delhi, India so any fellow Indian guys know if i can get help from somewhere.

From what I have heard about data recovery in India, it's probably cheaper and safer to just send it off for recovery than to buy the driver set.

I would like to point it out that the drive didn't contain anything worth recovering, just some old movies and games. Data recovery is not a priority. I was wondering if it's possible to make it up and running for some minor jobs as i'm broke atm. Will have to buy a new one some time later, till then thought it could work.

Thanks for the reply,

I tried doing what @Spildit suggested and now the drive seems to power up and after exactly 16 clicks goes down again. Is it bad?

@Spildit

Thanks for all your help. It sucks though i can't use it anymore. It lasted a good 4 years. Time to say goodbye to my old companion.

Peace
