What is your purpose?
If you want to recover data you don't need U14.

You can collect U14 from another PCB if you still need it. For DR it's not required as replied.

hi,
hdd model: WD10JMVW-11S5XS0
PCB: 2060-771801-002 rev.A with JMS 538S
and sata board that i found
PCB: 2060-771823-000 rev.A
ReallyMine will decript data for 100%?
THANK YOU

JMS538S is supported by reallymine. The encryption is handled by the bridge, not the drive.
In fact, in this case, the absence of U14 would be an advantage. That is, when U14 is removed, the bridge should identify itself as a JMicron rather than a Passport, and the whole drive, including the SmartWare area, should now be visible to the OS.

hi
can i change only the jmicron chip
February 6th, 2017, 15:29
Use 771823 with reallymine (after transferring U12).

Firebird.
If you have another one the same family and capacity you can take an image from patient to donor via SATA interface and convert the donor to USB interface with it's original USB PCB.
Sure if really mine doesn't work.
Good luck.

hi
what do you mean same family?
the same number of board or the same chip(jmicron),
i have a lot of boards with j micron but different year
thank you

I meant same model and capacity.
Do you have any DR tools (PC3K, MRT....etc)?
If not, convert it to SATA interface and try reallymine first
Good luck.

so, heads are dead too.

Without any proper tools, you're just wasting your time. You'll never get the drive stable enough after replacing heads to extract all the data.
