WD10EADS

I got this drive WD10EADS spin, clicks but never spins down. How can I check if the PCB is native to this drive, is the S/N somewhere in the U12 ROM chip?

Thank you

Compare the date code on the label against the YYWW (Year/Week) date codes on the chips and on the PCB.

Some firmware versions store a serial number in ROM module 0Dh.

The WWN is stored in ROM
But a WD drive, non native PCB/ROM or lost PCB is not a big deal

Thank you fzabkar and jeremy! The PCB is not native, I was able to rebuild ROM from SA and recovered the drive. Thank you again!
