A Hitachi Deskstar HDS722525VLAT80 drive is no longer recognized by any desktop system - does not even get listed in BIOS. However, if you disconnect the data cable and leave just the power one, then it gets heated - something is operational.
There is some important data I need to recover from it. Please let me know what I can try.

If it is not recognized by the BIOS or anything else, then not much. Need more advanced tests to rule out the problem.
Need parts and advanced equipment that can work with the drive's firmware.

If the drive doesn't spin, then the PCB is most probably bad.
If you can upload detailed photos of both sides of the PCB, I could help you test the onboard supply voltages. We could also determine whether the preamp has been damaged.
