Hi friends!
I know this is possible, but i don't know how.
So Firebird, FBlite, Hubble, and Hubble_LT drives has many type of heads, but they are not compatible with each other.
On hard drive sticke we see DCM code example xxxTJxxx or xxxVJxxx or xxxV2xxx or xxxT2xxx and so on.
In ROM we have many types of heads like "K","R","X","N", and so on....
These drives are not have ID, when phisically exchangechange HSA (type "K" to example type "R").
BUT!
I know there are a method to make these heads compatible, but i don1t know how.
Maybe we have to change one or more module in firmware, or change something in hard drive RAM.
So the question is. Is there somebody share the secret?
Thanks!

If you inspect the sliders, you'll note differences in topography between compatible / incompatible units.

I thought these differences were a large factor in making different ones incompatible.

It's intriguing to think there is a "tweak" that could make one fundamentally different set of heads work.

Color me skeptical . . .

Hi
I think its not possible. DCM may not play any role. Full model no. of both patient / donor must match.
Correct me if I am wrong

I heard from my friend that, pepe (on this forum) knows the secret.

Now i choose compatible head this way:
-must be a same drive family
-close ROM head type (example "M" HSA works in drive with HSA type "N")
-close manufacturing date

Sticker DCM code helps for first sight.

Well,
Decode the pcb head header complete first .Then you will know what signal goes to the heads via what connection .Once you know that you can check if the head you are planning to install uses the same header topology .This is if you are trying to swap heads from one family to other .If same family then no need to check the header connection As you will never fry heads but slider pattern topology can make a difference .Western digital is not a bad drive make to work on heads unlike seagate
