Yes !!!

I can do that.

I can remove the ATA passwords for very old native Hitachi, IBM/Hitachi based (M24 Arch) and ARM based HGST, but .... you would have to ship the drive to me (Portugal).

My unlocking service :

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=76
http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=76#p11072

IBM/Hitachi that i've done recently :

ARM - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=2060
M24 - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=2072

And if you don't want to pay/ship the drive .... you can try the free ZU :

http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=166

What is the full model of the drive ?

HITACHI HTS723216L9SA60
FW: FC2ZC50A
ZU Not working

If you want to pay shipping costs to me I can do that as well.

Or i bet someone in India will pop up and say for you to ship the drive to them ...

True but No result in most cases I faced previously
Recently I got some laptop drives for DR purpose (Using AS donor drives)

It is old enough family, non-ARM. I can't believe there is no people around you to help with password removal, there is no problem.

Non-ARM 2.5 Hitachi/IBM uses the same procedure for unlocking that ARM uses.

It is marked for people, who doesn't know the procedure and use a tools that supports old versions of Hitachi, but not new (like ARM - based).

Thank you Gentlemen,
I need to say something
why I'm here
I'm from Vijayawada,Andra pradesh, India I worked as TV technician (ECIL Hyderabad) from 1985 to 2000
From 2000 I changed to Computer services from 2005 my work grown up.
in 2014 I got problem with wd hdd and some other hdd, I sent some other places like Maharastra and Hyderabad, But results nill. I found this forum.
Actually here DR is looks like worst business In Vijayawada
Recently I got Seagate HDDs(20-25. 500gb, 1tb,2tb) I solved Most came with busy errors and pcb problems
After recovery the customers have no interest to take delivery. Even small charge
i can invest for the tools, But I didn't receive at least interest on investment.
This is main reason Why I am looking for free tools here
Now I'm collecting used drives for donor. This drive also one of them. And this tested with crystal disk condition was good
No need of data from it
Thank You Gurus

If you keep the PCB on the drive the ATA PWD lock will prevent NVRAM access. Once you gain modules access by changing nvram to SA-C you just replace the security module.

а)There are methods when PSB can not be removed

b) zu not replace the security module. Because it does not use external files, and in the service area a clean module does not always exist

c)What is sa-c ?

a) Ok, but i think ZU needs for PCB to be removed....
b) Yes, i did find some drives without a clean security module. I copied one from another unlocked drive and it did work.
c) Factory SA. Copy "F" - When you set "NV-RAM" byte from "01" to "00" so that drive boots without password and allow access to SA/modules.

a)Not really. The program needs a "safe mode", and as you get it your business.
b) I already said the program does without external files.
c) the first time I've heard.
Editing for nravam simply prevents normal loading and nothing more. In any factory sa the disk is not loaded.

AFAICT SalvationDATA refers to the SA copies as SA-A, SA-B and SA-C. Other tools refer to them as Copy 0,1,F.

again. In any factory-sa the disk is not loaded.
Where it will load if there is no such copy (E.g. erased) at all? :)

Is there any progress on it?
Because I have made some, succesfully "killed" my HTS723216L9SA60 locked with maximum security. And it was not the first time zu did this - I have a bunch of Hitachi drives that zu has made a paperweight of. Now they are not recognized any longer, MHDD shows them without model number and 0 capacity.
How this happens? When zu tells you "POWER OFF / ON AND EXECUTE ZU AGAIN" you re-power your drive with the PCB on, run the same command, but instead of "UNLOCK DONE" it tells you the same "POWER OFF / ON AND EXECUTE ZU AGAIN" message again.
So be careful when unlocking Hitachis with zu. You have been warned! :!:

I'm looking for DIY. So far I haven't found a method to read NVRAM (apart from desoldering), so I am stuck, saving for sediv :)
What zu does only Moltke can tell, NVRAM is definitely modified in some way.

Zu creates no backups.
But if there was a method to read and write NVRAM, I could experiment further, I have some locked drives to test.
