without checking NRGlist

Checking NRG list won't help you with Rosewoods
The translator on Rosewoods is dependent on many other things.
Another problem is MC that can hold all recent data and will be cleared if you issue any command that alters translation.

Why do you record such video "manuals" then? So that beginnary engineers spoil customer's data?

We have received few cases wherein beginners have already applied translator regeneration commands and these drives have partial access now.
Does anyone have a solution to this ????????????

The partial access problem can be solved, but everything that was stored in MC when translator was regen'ed is gone, IMHO.
And that can be a good 70GB of data.

Seem that seagate is working hard to make loose customer data very easily, a serious company should produce new drives as better than previous, not worse!
How DR can recover data properly if there are entries in NRG list on this drives?

If they could regenerate the translator of a rosewood, so beginners would not be...... or yes, but with resources.

Each time Seagate F3 drives have a firmware problem and a sollution is found they "update" the firmware on the next models so that those models still have the same sort of problem but the old sollution will "kill" the data and/or will not work.

Looks like the "priority" for Seagate is not to fix the problems with the firmware but to make sure that the end-user and even data recovery labs can't apply sollutions to the "problems".

Examples - 7200.11 m0 command that makes the 7200.12 drives with partial access and the commands to re-set media cache that will kill the user data (stored on the media cache) on modern drives, etc ....

Sollution, just don't buy Seagate ! It's no longer safe to use any sort of Seagate F3 arch drive to store data. Simple. And if you have any problem just consider the data gone/lost for good.

Just don't use those drives.

How does one solve translator issue on these Rosewood drives then ?
I have a drive where it shows size "0"
Specially when ACE gives following statement and has given only half solution of unlocking which is of no use if you can not solve the Translator issue

Attention! Special Restrictions! Due to the fact that the FW has particular features, we strongly recommend that you do not apply Recount translator commands (both, ATA or terminal), Clear G-list, Reset S.M.A.R.T and spare heads in ROM commands. This will clear Media Cache and you might lose user data forever.

Have anyone done it ?
Thanks

May be you were lucky that the drive is still giving you full access
Most of the times it becomes Partial access
