First don't even think about using parts and opening the drive up.
-Never used parts but was considering it - drive was opened after scaning with testdisk(used to work before). If you can still see the drive in windows and linux with full capacity and if you did manage to image it it's better for now not starting messing it up more.
-Drive is seen in windows and linux with full capacity tho partition is missing
Start by checking the image file or clone with hex editor. Can you see any "data" at all or you can see only random garbage or zeros ?
-Image file has a random garpage of zeros.Did you check if the drive can be addressed by LBA or does it support C/H/S only ?
-I need to research how to do this. Did you ear any strange noise from the drive like clicking ? Can you clone the drive with something like hddsuperclone ?
-I can try cloning, yes there was old click of death sound Can you see the drive with MHDD ? And on BIOS does the drive ID with correct capacity ?
-No MHDD HDAT2 SPINRITE do not see the drive at all. If you can detect the drive with MHDD you might want to try to scan it just some LBAs to see if you do have access to them ...
-I will do another try with MHDD, i thing there's only DOS version am i right ?Are you willing to pay some money for data recovery ?
-Timeframe is small so shipping it and waiting is not an option, i also don't know if this can be fixed remotely(almost sure it won't work) If the data is of importance to you you better start looking for a reputable data recovery firm as the more you mess with the drive the more are the chances that you do make the data un-recoverable !!!
-Data is important but as i said it will take week or two to write everything again cause there's backup from past monthDo not open the drive up without a laminar flow workbench and even less without even knowing what is going on with the drive !!!
-It was click of death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmTFVuEXzwk that is not my video Do you have some firmware tool to work with Quantum ? Did you bother to check terminal output of the drive using TTL ?
-I could test everything and do as suggested if i am told what to do.Are you willing to pay at least something to get the data recovered ?
-If there's remote option but i don't think it will work sorry for not being so optimistic about remote
and sorry for my english
