Seagate ST1000LM password

August 1st, 2017, 7:46

Hi, I have this Seagate 1TB drive that is ATA locked. I`ve put it on terminal, I have access to the commands but searching on the internet, didn`t find anything clear about how to. I`ve tried ZOC script and got nothing, tried formatting the user partition with m0,D,3,,,,,22, also m0,2,1,,,,,22, they both completed succesfully, also cleared smart, still locked after these. Any idea? Thank you!

I hope you're not expecting to recover any data from this. Trying all those things blindly is a great way to botch it up for good. ATA lock has nothing to do with the things you're trying.

Hi, the data has no value, I got the drive fairly cheap, just to use it as a backup. I managed to get the password by reading 30A sys file via terminal.
