Seagate F3 prompt slow to appear

August 12th, 2017, 2:37

how long does usually, or should the F3 CLI take to appear after pressing ctrl-z ??

the drive under test here is taking at least 2 minutes for the "F3 T>" prompt to appear, is that normal?

the terminal works fine once it appears

Hi,

that's a bit long but it means the drive is busy with other tasks. Might be a sign of head/surface problems.

thanks pepe, the G-list has no entries but SATA interface not recognised by PC. Can you advise on any troubleshooting method for the SATA interface using the F3 CLI?

I have been able to read LBA sectors via serial and the DOS partition table is there.

The output from "/TV4" contains "DiagError 00000027" - is anyone familiar with that error??

Does it relate to an error reading the Reassigned Sectors List table?? If it is, is there a method for regenerating that?

Unable to find an explanation for that error when searching, grateful for any feedback on a troubleshooting method for this error.
