Cyclic Redundancy Check error is caused by bad SATA cable or bad connection. Try repluging the SATA cable (on both sides) and changing it with a good one.

Give us more details about the program you are using, the format you are trying to do, what is the exact message you are receiving.

Where was this drive being used before ? If it is from a DVR or something, that also would be one of the errors presented when formatting.

Maybe ? It is a little hard then, because the drive could be somehow locked , personalized or had some other alteration in firmware done. Not necessarily bad.

One best solution would to take the drive with someone with pc3000 and the knowledge to a correct diagnostic before condemning the drive.

No one who's spent the money on a PC-3000 system is going to waste time trying to fix a broken drive when there's no data needing to be recovered. It's cheaper and easier to just buy another drive. Even if the OP manages to make the drive work for a bit, it's likely going to just fail again in short time.

Agreed. My comment for the pc3000 is mostly because the OP seems to not know from where the drive came, and so the reason/cause of the symptoms can´t be correctly assessed, due to lack of adequate tools. Someone with pc3000, or even Sediv, and the necessary knowlege, would be able to say if the drive is defective in some way, or is locked due to belonging to some other kind of machine/dvr/etc.

The solution could come only after good diagnostics and you have done nothing about it. Start with the S.M.A.R.T. data from your drive, for example, than surface scan, etc.

The cost of our time to us is worth more than the value of your drive...and at the end of the day, we all recognize that it is a waste of time, as the drive cannot be "fixed". It would be cheaper, faster and actually result in your getting a working drive back if we were to simply buy you a new hard drive.

here is a link to buying a replacement on E-Bay - https://www.ebay.com/p/Toshiba-320GB-In ... /194321179

I can see you are trying this with a lot of different computers.

Can you post a good picture of the disk label, please ? The one you used in the first post is too small.
