Hi. I have drive that would not power on due to PCB cold solder joints. I have found/repaired the issue and now I have power but computer doesn't recognize the drive. The drive spins and sound normal. No grinding or clicking. Does anyone have experience with this and or a schematic for the PCB?
PCB model is 2060-80041-000 rev p1. Thanks in advance have a good one.

If the issue really is just related to bad soldering on the PCB, then you can just replace the PCB with another 2060-80041-000 REV P1 board along with transferring the 8 pin ROM chip labeled U12.

However, I often see cases where the drive was dropped causing damage to the USB port as well as internal damage. So the issue now might be more than just a bad joint on the PCB. My Passports sometimes will have a single head go bad and they don't click and spin down like other drives usually do.

If you give up on DIY let me know, I'm right over in Providence and I do a ton of My Passport recoveries here. Seems they are a popular drive here in New England.
