Seagate ST500DM002 - Hyperterminal - no response to CTRL + Z

Hello,

At first I apologize for my English. I use google translator.

I would like to try to restore the Seagate ST500DM002 drive to life and get some data back. The disk spins but is not detected by either the BIOS or the system.

I connected it to a computer by terminal and after power up I get something like this:

According to the manual (easily to find on the network) I try to enter the diagnostic terminal by pressing CTRL + Z and nothing happens.

In other information that I read the disk terminal can be locked and we need to disconnect the heads for the connection time. When the drive motor stops, tighten the screws to restore the pin header contact and then press CTRL + Z. The problem is that when I attach a drive with disconnected heads until it does not turn on the engine I get the result:

And when I tighten the PCB and restoring the connection to the heads CTRL + Z still does not work.

Further reading on the web I did not find information about repairing the 7200.12 series drives. Has anyone actually developed this yet?

First one (for drives without diskware) is short before power on, and after power on trying to reach terminal by Ctrl+Z

Second one (for drives with diskware) is short after power on and second "SpinUp" message in terminal, and keep shorting until "NO HOST FIS" message appeared after power on trying to reach terminal by Ctrl+Z

The disk spins normally. At the moment of shorting, heads start to knock. I kept a short over two minutes but the terminal shows only this:

I read that for the 7200.12 series you can not use the same procedure as at 7200.11. What can I do now to restore the drive to life?

6. If hard drive stops its spindle or has problems with recalibration, try next method that starts and stops the drive's spindle motor :

Also, could we see the output of Ctrl-L?

drive can't load diag ovl, so it can't run most of the diag commands.
however, it is odd that it can start normally according to the first log in the OP...
