ST3500820AS fw SD26 updated to SD1A S.M.A.R.T. Error

Hello I updated my ST3500820AS that had original firmware (and have no backup of) SD26 to SD1A. Now I receive the following error message: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD

S.M.A.R.T. Error

Can this error be fixed, if so please point me in the right direction?

I am not a n00b to JTAG, SPI and Serial flashing when it comes to Modems, Routers and Wireless Access Points but I have NEVER done it on a HDD before.

SPI Flashing my Modem

I have all the tools necessary including Pomona and 3M SOIC 8 and SOIC 16 Test Clips, I can read and write the flash using FlashcatUSB or a USBJTAG, I also have a UART USB adapter if serial needs to be used.

your drive might 'only' need clearing smart by sending cmd 'N1' on level 1.
there is plenty of info on this forum about how to connect a serial port to the drive, then you attach power to the drive (sata is not needed), open the serial port in something like hyper terminal or putty, press ctrl-z, type '/1<enter>', 'N1<enter>'
Watch it for any errors (post here if any).
Check if AltList has any entries:
'/TV4<enter>'

Thank you pepe, do I have to unscrew the pcb and block the port like I have seen in certain vids?

I ask because I cant seem to find the right size torx screwdriver.
