A couple of important notes:

1) Please note this is an alpha-version of R.tester, hence we did not announce it yet anyhow.
But since this topic is here, here's the correct link to program description (in Russian):

https://rlab.ru/tools/rtester.html

2) Despite the alpha development stage, it works, so please feel free to use it, but don't be too surprised if there are any glitches.

Soon we will create an official description and support section for R.tester with more details about its functionality and usage.

Once we have something closer to stable release, I will surely mention that separately.

Thanks, it looks extremely handy.

If you could translate the Diag settings window, I'd be grateful :-)

Sure, the initial plan was to break it in on the domestic market before the stable international release, but since there's an interest, we will prepare a detailed description and support section in English without waiting for that.

I will make a good (not automated) translation of the Diag window maybe not within the days, but within the next week or two. Have quite a lot on my plate at the moment.

Are you sure you know the history of HDD.EXE Team and HDD Research Group and their work well enough to make bold statements like this?

First of all,
I'm the author of the R.tester tool and "Hi All!"

Please, read my comments below.

1. I'm technically not able to stole anything from (a-ha-ha) HRT (non-unique crap, based on HDD.EXE Team code, btw) or even HDD.EXE - because I was one of the leading developer in HDD.EXE Team years ago and mostly all of really sexy things and features was made by me. Including lots of INI files and parts of their design, INFO sections, good SMART description, etc., etc.
BVG got the HDD.EXE source code and INI-files without my permission.
Welcome to dark side of the HRT. I don't care for now, let it be.

In brief: I can't stole the things which was my own from the beginning :)

2. Because of the item 1, I'm free to do anything I want with my old/legacy stuff in any of my modern projects. And I will.
Thus, you have no any reason for such crazy rumours or ideas like in your original post.
If you have any questions - email me directly, what's the problem? :)
I never being a John Doe (Mr. Unknown) like mostly all the persons do in the Internet.
You can always find my contact details in "About" dialog or ask RLAB.

3. R.tester - is a very specific project which I basically started for own use and then convert it into "public" project after few good discussions with my colleague.

No, I have no any targets in competing with any other tools. I do what I want to make my tool good.
No, No one paid for this development. If you want to help - test it and send me your ideas, comments, suggestions or bug reports :)
No, There is nothing to hack in R.tester, don't wast your time. If you have a questions like "how things are made" - just ask me directly.

Yes, R.tester core can do much more than currently available in public version. Basically, new options appear as they complete their testing.
Yes, Some good stuff are not planned to be available in public version and will be offered later for commercial use only.
Yes, I plan to unlock plug-in support in near future. This will allow you to develop your own "secret" :) features.
Yes, R.tester can operate with every known vendor-unique protocol for almost all devices including NVMe
- SCSI Command exerciser allow you to send ANY SCSI-based command to the device, incl. SAT12/SAT16 (ATA transport)
- ATA Command exerciser is ready for a while, but I'm still not decided yet to unlock it or not. There are some tricky moments doing ATA over non-native transport.
Yes, Terminal (serial debug port support) option will be unlocked soon.

As as said above: if you have any questions, good ideas, comments, bug reports - email me directly.

Kind regards,
Mikhail Mavritsin

The easiest way to get everything in English - use "OLD Setup" menu and then:
- disable LUA Scripting
- change Profile Library selection to "Default"

All original dialogs and messages are written on English by default.

If you

then how did you decide so clearly who is the original and who is the thief?

Okay.
Few facts from the real world, not from the screenshots or crazy rumours. Just to help you and others to calm down a bit...

1. "Public" version of HDD.EXE was specially made zillion years ago and then spreaded over the Net. Enjoy.
2. Vladislav is a first author of the HDD.EXE, but years later - code was maintained (improved, upgraded, extended, etc.) by many HDD.EXE Team members, incl. me.
3. HRT was made as a closed commercial project by the BVG and Vladislav, and the HDD.EXE codebase was taken as a reference.
So, where is the HRT now? Right - nowhere.
4. Rapidly evolving of the original HDD.EXE was almost stopped in ~2005-2006. It's just a fact.

5. Unfortunately, there is nothing to compare between my own branch of the Project and the original (very prehistoric) tools which you are trying to use as a "super evidences".

Good fact is what I have no any reasons to prove who am I.
If you don't like style of my own INI files - just don't use the tool :)
But, please, stop spreading fake rumours regarding the R.tester and the rest things.

Peace, cakes and coffee to everyone on this party! :D

Seriously??
Do you really think what these "versions" reflects to the reality and has any dependencies to the supported features/classes?

My current versions are v27.11 for the ATA core and the v28.09 for the SCSI core.
And what does this have to say? Yes, nothing. It's just a versions.
