Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 Firmware Update Advice ?

November 12th, 2017, 7:35

Hi:

- just got used ST2000DM001-1CH164 2TB, SATA 6Gb/s, 64MB 7200 RPM, 3907029168 sectors, and
running some basic Mhdd surface scan before i'm gonna put it to use for data.
- it starts ok, no issues for now.
- it has current CC43 firmware, but i found existing Update CC49

and i had a thought:

1. should i update firmware before i partition for data usage, OR
2. keep it, and hope for the best ?

Also Smart info:
- more than 4 years in a work, 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 055 055 000 Old_age Always - 40180
- always on in server, 12 Power_Cycle_Count 0x0032 100 100 020 Old_age Always - 45

So "don't touch if it works" ?
