Hello Gurus,

I have a WD 2.5" HDD which is making a chirping sound like a cricket. I opened it up and dont see the head on the platter. What could be the issue?

Just trying to read it once so that I can get my data back. It's not getting detected when I am connecting it with a SATA to USB cable. No scratches on the disks are visible.

You need professional data recovery help with this drive. Opening a drive outside of a cleanroom environment will do/has done damage to the drive if spun up again. If you data is valuable, seek professional help.

Sounds like a drive coming from a laptop. Correct? If yes, was the laptop dropped or sustain some sort of physical shock while powered on?
