That's one of the best result i've seen on a drive which has unreadable sectors due to opened cover (dust on surface), customer should be happy and say thanks to northwind because recovery is very good as shown on DE screen.

I'm sorry.

I must have not understand you well, the signal was bad when you called.

So the result is very good? :) :D

I have seen the list you send me but I can not figure out anything because there were many files inside my drive and it is a chaos and I can not say how much data was recovered and what was lost.

Thank you and again, I'm sorry for misunderstanding.

You need to look at your email again.

We've also sent you a list with the damaged files, it's 5 files alltogether.
Everything else is recovered.

There was 1.1TB of data in there (that's why there is an unread part in my screenshot above, we only image occupied space), and about 500MB damaged.

Good job Northwind. To take on a drive with dust for a second "needle" change and end up with a fine result like this.

very nicely done Northwind, I'm impressed with your professionalism and frankness with this job. I also have a drive with damaged platter and hopefully it will turned out like the OP's one. He has no idea how lucky he is

Thanks guys.

Just an update,
client came by our lab to collect the drive with his data and he was able to look at the actual data and evaluate them in person.

I was told he looked ecstatic.
I hope he will update this thread.

is it possible to achieve such fantastic results on a Seagate DM series?

DMs are more difficult drives, but it all depends on the type and the extent of the damage.

We have countless 100% DM recoveries, but we also have a lot of 0% cases.

Other than that, I think I have given you much information via PM.

Sorry to jump on your thread but reading this with interest and have a very similar issue going on here - wondering if we could discuss this Northwind?
