mk1032gsx pcb alternative solder points for POWER and DATA

December 4th, 2017, 9:39

HI

I was wondering if anyone has a schematic diagram for a mk1032gsx pcb please
or can tell me alternative solder points for the power and data to get the drive working please

Many Thanks

What you are asking makes absolutely no sense. That's already a SATA drive. The "alternate solder points" you've probably read about aren't some magic fix like you're thinking. That's when people are discussing USB native PCB drives and need to solder in to adapt to a SATA port for diagnostics and firmware repairs.

what i am asking is for another point where i can solder the power and data pins to
as the pads have been damaged on a pcb

For that you can just visually trace where they pads were going to. But, replacing the PCB is going to be 1000x easier. Why work the hard way?

the pcb for this hard drive is expensive and this way its not so expensive

would you be able to identify alternative points by looking at an image pls

Nothing in those pictures suggests damaged solder pads, it looks perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure you're just misdiagnosing what's going on here.

Well,
Lets See How Your Board Looks Like

My camera isnt working great but the boards are identical

can anyone help

Like I said before, you should be able to visually trace where the line was coming to each pad. You'd probably just have to score the resin up some to create a place you can solder into.

But, you're going to waste 10x the labor of what a new PCB would cost. If you value your own time, work smarter not harder. And, if you're planning to offer data recovery as a service (I assume you are from your previous posts) then you'll want to be collecting as many PCBs as possible. I've probably got over 1000 here, and I still don't always have the one I need. But, some of them have probably already been used for a half dozen recoveries.

this is for myself not for anyone else
can you show on the image where to scrape

So the OP purchases a replacement PCB and then what?

The sata pins you solder to those curvy traces that go around the hole in the center.
The power pins you solder to places near D1, F1, etc.

Really, if this post is not a joke, we need pics of your board, not of someone´s. There are not "alternate points", but to direct you to a place to solder, we need to see what is damaged and what isn´t.

Yeah, I guess that one doesn't have an external IC602. So it's gonna suck no matter what. Reball time!!!

Without an image of the PCB is difficult to say, but what if you change the entire connector? It's quite simple.

Do you know someone with a mobile phone? If we can see the problem we can advise.
