Hello,

I have 2 WD drives very close date and DCM but only the first part of Model is the same:

Patient drive:
---------------
Model: WD10TMVV-11TK7S1
Date: 20 NOV 2010
DCM: HHMTJBBN
Country: Thailand
PCB:2060-771754-000

Donor Drive:
--------------
Model: WD10TMVV-11ZSMS1
Date: 08 NOV 2010
DCM: HBMTJBBN
Country: Thailand
PCB:2060-771737-000

Could these heads be compatible?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

I have no idea where you're coming up with the particular values you highlighted in bold, almost none of those are matching criteria.

To quickly answer your question, no those are not compatible for heads. They aren't even the same family.

Try using my WD Family Search Tool, to at least verify that you're dealing with the same family before you even bother looking at other criteria.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your help.

I didn't mean to highlight the matching criteria.

I highlighted the difference between the 2 models.

DCM is the same except for the second character that I highlighted.
They are produced in the same month (4 days difference)
Same country
and close PCB (I know it doesn't have anything to do with head compatibility)

I'll check your tool, thanks for sharing.

As Data Medics says, one of the most important criteria is family. You might also want to look at this from Donor Drives.

Hm?

I kindly disagree.
These are both Helios drives and should be compatible assuming preamp matches.
Judging by other details of the drives and general experience on those models, I'd put my money on them being compatible.

Just my $.02.

Just a remark:

The patient drive is a USB 2.0 drive
The donor drive is a USB 3.0 drive

can these HDDs be compatible?

You're right, after double checking they are both helios... for some reason I had TK7 code down as Tornado family (probably because I've never actually seen one here and went off someone else's info)

So yes, they probably are compatible.

The interface type doesn't matter at all. Even a SATA drive can be compatible if it's the correct family and other specs match. I usually pull heads from SATA drives for USB cases.

Well,
Fully Compatible No Issues At All ,Also No Chance of a Head Issue As Both Drives Would Be 4 Heads ,So Do The Swap And Let us All Know How it Went
