Other than that, if you know the password, you can try sending it with Victoria

2 - If you know the password and you try to unlock the drive by MHDD/Victoria using that password and it doesn't work then the LAPTOP itself did use a hash/encoded password on the drive. You type in a password on that laptop and it will lock the drive with another one generated using the code you set on BIOS.
3 - You can try to use ANOTHER EQUAL LAPTOP to disable the password.
4 - Anyone with DECENT firmware tools for Samsung (NOT FREE AND NOT CHEAP) should be able to unlock your drive.
- You can try a data recovery center if data is important for you.
- Cheap tools like a $350 USD SeDiv "should" be able to unlock your drive. If not SHTR can handle it for sure.
- PC-3000, MRT PRO ETC can unlock your drive. PC-3000 is about $6000 so forget about that unless you own a data recovery business.
- ZU is free but most likely can't unlock this drive model.
- You can try this ZOC script if you have a TTL adaptor - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php? ... 875#p10372 - I don't know if it will work on your drive.

* Clearing the password/unlocking the drive via HDAT2 (either the latest beta/5.3) on the same Optiplex: His password doesn't seem to get recognized either so the command doesn't work. Tried the password on both master and user setting. Didn't mess with other options such as fill, etc.
